Skechers Street Dance Battle 6. The biggest, toughest and hottest streetdance competition in the country. Almost a hundred of schools and universities joined, gathered and battled for the chance to be one of the country's best dance crew.
The first major dance competition that we joined. 1 of the most unforgettable moments of my life. I consider this competition as one of my many goals, achievements, dreams in life.
Elimination Round. October 2, 2010. E-P-I-C. Arrived at SM Megamall @ 10 in the morning. Had our lunch there. We were given a chance to have our technical rehearsal at the stage. Also one of their staff members told us where to enter to the stage, to exit, how much time we have until the song plays and how much time we have to exit the stage. They we're very strict. We had 20 seconds to enter and go to our places in the stage, and also 20 seconds to exit the stage. Minimum of 3 minutes and 55 second and maximum of 4 minutes and 5 second routine. At least 3 members should wear a pair of Skechers shoes. Other brand name or logos in the shoes are covered with black duct tape. Spell S-T-R-I-C-T? :))
We we're 10 High Schools battling our way to The Big Dome. The performances were tight. Their routines are intense. We were 7th of the 10 schools. And the finalists were announced. First finalist is Ateneo, then St. Paul Pasig, Xavier, then Colegio de San Agustin. Last slot. We were praying hard, very nervous, quiet and waiting in our seats. Then the unexpected happened. We had the last spot in the finals. We didn't expect that we're going to make it to the finals. But it happened. Thank You Lord for the gift that you gave us. We owe that one to you :)
